Description
Artistic Wire is an affordable high quality dead-soft wire. It’s extremely flexible which makes it ideal for creating flowing curves, shapes, and spirals, as well as for wrapping stones. Because of this flexibility, it can also be easily unbent, so when it is used to create an element like a clasp, which will be subjected to high stress, it should be hardened after shaping. This can be done by placing it on an anvil or bench block and striking it with a nylon hammer, or using the Wire Whacker tool.
18g Wire – 1.02mm Diameter

Bare Copper wire is a raw, untreated metal, which means it will naturally oxidise over time. This can happen even while it’s still in the packaging, resulting in areas that appear darker, duller, or slightly tarnished rather than bright and shiny. This is not a fault or defect, but a normal characteristic of bare copper reacting with air and moisture. If you prefer a polished finish, the surface can be easily restored using a jewellery polishing cloth, fine steel wool, or a gentle acidic clean such as lemon juice or vinegar, followed by rinsing and drying. Many makers also enjoy this natural ageing process, as it can add depth and character to finished pieces.
