Q. Are you open to the public?

A. Yes! Our website and physical store are open to anyone and everyone! We have no minimum spend, and no appointments necessary!

Q. Do you cater for Wholesale clients?

A. Yes, we certainly do! Beads N Crystals direct imports and wholesales a great range of beads, tools, packaging and jewellery making supplies. To ensure you qualify for wholesale access, and to apply please see our Wholesale Access information.

Q. Do you have a Customer Loyalty Program?

A. Yes, we certainly do! Our Bead Lover Rewards program is available to in store and online retail customers and offers points which convert to $10 gift vouchers. It’s completely free and there are no pesky plastic cards in sight!

You can also become a Gold VIP Bead Lover to receive free gifts, huge category-wide discounts every month, competitions, exclusive deals and more! Note both programs are not available to international or wholesale clients.

Q. Do you offer Beading Workshops?

A. Unfortunately we no longer run scheduled beading classes or workshops, however we’re more than happy to help to select all the materials you need to make your project at home. We stock a range of beading books and can send you projects and instructions for some types of beading. There are also lots of self-help guides and YouTube videos online too.

If you require specialist tuition on basic beading, we may be able to schedule a private 1-on-1 lesson which is priced for a 2-hour session.

Q. I can’t find what I’m looking for. Are there more products not listed online?

A. Absolutely! We have products in store which are not listed online. These products tend to be smaller quantity items, random beads, fill-a-bag selections and things like that. We already have our massive 17,000+ regular products available online plus more arriving weekly. Please email us if you’re after something specific as we have access to tens of thousands more products through our global supply network.

Q. Can you send out a printed catalogue?

A. Sorry but we do not produce a printed catalogue or price list. We are constantly working hard to update our comprehensive online catalogue right here for your convenience. Online stock quantities are updated live with our current stock on hand.

Q. Are you open 7 days?

A. Not anymore. We’re open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Pre-2020, we were trading Sundays, however working weeks on end without a day off is no good for anyone. We’re now closed on Sundays to allow for some family time.

Q. If I drive in, where can I park?

A. We’re very fortunate to have plenty of on-site parking. Our Ipswich Rd frontage has three exclusive carparks, while our rear carpark can accommodate another twelve cars. The rear carpark can be accessed from our front entry, or from the rear off Juliette St.

Q. How is postage calculated?

A. We offer flat-rate and free postage options Australia wide. This means it doesn’t matter how much you order, how big the parcel is or how much it weighs. The postage cost won’t increase at all. In fact, adding more items may qualify your order for free postage. We’ve put together a simple page with our postage costs and the current free post offer.

Q. I don’t trust the internet with my credit card, how else can I pay?

A. That is very understandable. Entering credit card details into a random website can be risky business indeed. At Beads N Crystals, your security is our first priority. For this reason, we use the Stripe payment gateway to process our online transactions. Stripe is a secure and reliable global payments processor. They are trusted to process payments for some of the biggest global brands including Google, Amazon, Zara, Shopify and BMW. As a multinational company facilitating payments for millions of businesses worldwide, Stripe has implemented robust safeguards and security features across its software. These measures are designed to ensure the safety of customers’ money and personal data, providing a trustworthy platform for financial transactions.

When a credit card is entered into our website, it is processed, handled and encrypted directly by Stripe. We have no access to your card details and cannot change the transaction details or charge your card. We simply receive the payment you authorise to send.

If you’d still prefer another option, we accept payments from your PayPal account, from credit card processed by PayPal (if you prefer to use them over Stripe), and you also have the option to manually transfer a payment from your account to ours. For security reasons, we don’t accept payment by credit card over the phone, or cash in the post.

Q. I’m looking at some silver findings. Are they Sterling Silver?

A. If the product has the words “Sterling Silver” in the name, then Yes it certainly is. If you don’t see those words, the product you’re looking at is Silver Plated. For a better quality finding, look in the Sterling Silver & Gold Filled category!

Q. I’m looking at gold findings on your web site. Are they real gold?

A. We’re often asked for real solid gold findings and wire. Actual gold is extremely expensive and very soft. Consider the price of gold per ounce, lets say $3100, and divide that by 28.3 to get the approximate dollars per gram which would be $109.50 per gram. The smallest solid gold ear hooks would weigh about 3g a piece, so you’d be looking at over $650 worth of gold in a pair of pure gold ear hooks.

This is the reason you won’t find solid 999 gold ear hooks in a bead shop. Instead, we stock 14 Karat Gold Filled and Gold Vermeil. Gold filled is a thick layer of gold pressed over a brass core. The thick gold layer won’t wear off or discolour like plated metals can. Vermeil on the other hand is a solid .925 Sterling silver wire electroplated with gold. Although vermeil is precious metal right through and exudes gold brilliance for many years, it’s not quite as long lasting as Gold Filled.

Q. I have found a lower price elsewhere, can you match it?

A. We never match competitor prices, we BEAT them! Please tell us where you saw the lower price and provided it’s genuine, we’ll beat it! For price beat, the product must be the same, in stock and available for immediate purchase within Australia. Not available for clearance, trade or sell out pricing.

Q. I’m looking for a Swarovski Crystal which I can’t find online. Can you get it?

A. As you may have heard, Swarovski have voluntarily exited the retail loose components market globally. For this reason, we (and our competitors) have no access to order items from Swarovski. We would suggest considering our new European partner Preciosa, or Shimr brand as an alternative for premium quality crystal beads, trimming and craft embellishments.

Q. Can I return items I don’t need?

A. We can accept back many different products for a change of mind exchange. There are exclusions and time limits so please refer to our exchange policy for full details. Our exchange policy is in addition to your statutory rights which will always be honoured. So you can rest assured, you’re covered by the full Australian consumer protections such as (but not limited to) the replacement or refund of any faulty or incorrectly supplies items.

Q. Are you ‘that’ kind of bead shop?

A. Oh no! We’re certainly not! We’re not like any other kind of bead shop you’ve ever visited before!
