Half Drilled Pearls

These freshwater pearls are half-drilled to accommodate certain jewellery designs. Half-drilled pearls are drilled partially through the center, rather than all the way through, so that the hole does not come out the other side. This allows the pearls to be attached to a jewelry setting in a specific orientation. For example, half-drilled pearls may be used in earrings where the drill hole is hidden, or in pendants where the pearl is suspended from a bail and the drill hole is not visible. In these cases, half-drilling the pearls is a cost-effective solution that preserves the integrity and appearance of the pearls while providing a secure and hidden anchor point.
